The University of Minnesota Rochester invites applications for a non-tenure track, annually renewable faculty position in mathematics for its undergraduate degree program, the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS). The position is primarily teaching-focused with an expectation of contributing to departmental and institutional service (90% teaching, 10% service).
We are seeking a qualified instructor who has a significant interest in supporting student learning in a high-contact model inside and outside of the classroom and will work closely with other faculty to coordinate and teach the range of mathematics and statistics courses needed by students in the BSHS program. The successful instructor will have experience implementing pedagogical strategies and supporting a diverse student body population.
The instructor must be prepared to teach undergraduate introductory mathematics and statistics courses with a preference for ability to also teach undergraduate biomathematics.
- Assisting preparation and delivery of course content in interactive learning classrooms.
- Grading.
- Holding weekly student support hours in Just ASK spaces ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
- Supervising undergraduate teaching assistants.
- Facilitating department-wide data collection efforts that coincide with course delivery duties.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A master’s or doctorate degree in mathematics or a closely related field with a statistics background.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Exemplary experience teaching introductory undergraduate mathematics.
- Experience working with nontraditional and first‑generation students.
- Evidence of teaching potential in biostatistics, bioinformatics, data analytics, and the like.
- Works well with a diverse student population and in interdisciplinary teams.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000; depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
