PositionSummary
The Lead Technician position requires strong technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems while using leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction. The role includes a $2,000 sign‑on bonus for first‑time hires and a flat‑rate pay model.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair specifications for brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Explain technical diagnoses and repair recommendations to non‑mechanical individuals.
- Keep current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within the first two years; company pays test fees and offers a bonus for each test passed.
- Valid automobile driver’s license at all times with ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Proficiency in brakes diagnosis/repair.
- Proficiency in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair.
- Proficiency in general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
- Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical people.
- Strong reading, writing and math skills.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain/transmission or automotive heating/AC.
- Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills via assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational‑technical school program.
- A.S.E. certification in at least three of A1–A8, with L1 (brakes) or steering & suspension ASE preferred.
