Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and active MI licensure, with night shift availability and post-op open heart patient care responsibilities.

• Critical Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-op open heart surgery patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and support
• Experience with Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) is utilized in this role
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
• Every other weekend availability required
• At least one holiday must be covered
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), including patient and family education and communication with the healthcare team
• Online orientation modules must be completed and passed prior to start date, typically completed onsite one week before the start date
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Up to 1 week of RTO may be requested
• COVID vaccination is required to work at this facility
• 13-week contract

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Impella and IABP required
• Ability to care for post-op open heart patients required
