Registered Nurse - Surgery
Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hrs. Monday-Friday with call and holiday rotation.
Location:
Rochester, Michigan
GENERAL
SUMMARY:
* Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
* Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
* Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
* Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
* Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
REQUIRED:
* Obtain and maintain BLS certification on completion of hospital orientation required.
* Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license at time of hire/transfer date required.
* Graduate from an accredit School of Nursing at time of hire/transfer date.
* Demonstrate knowledge of Growth and Development over life span for all ages required.
* Ability to manage multiple high-tech equipment /information devices simultaneously required.
* Must be able to take on-call shift.
* Must be able to flex.
* Must have minimum of two (2) years OR experience required.
Preferences:
* Current CNOR certification desired preferred.
