This role is essential in providing resident care with direct and indirect Activities of Daily Living and Medication Administration following the resident’s care plan.

• Prepare and administer each resident’s medication per resident’s service plan and licensed healthcare professional orders.
• Provide any prescribed treatment to residents.
• Document all medication passes, and treatments provided.
• Communicate with Pharmacy for medication changes, refills, missing medications, etc.
• Communicate with all outside agencies as needed and when they visit the home.
• Provide support in all areas of daily living as needed by individuals, this may include lifting individuals, assisting in transferring, or moving wheelchairs.
• Provide resident care with ADLs in addition to medication administration.
• Support individuals in obtaining the best quality of life possible.
• Where assistance is requested/required to support individuals in making choices, advocate for him/her in areas of needs and wants.
• Interacting and communicating in a manner that is respectful toward all individuals.
• Creating an environment and conducting activities in a manner that ensures health and safety of individuals.
• Supporting co-workers and actively participating in team process.
• Providing complete, accurate and timely documentation.
• Performing tasks that contribute to the day-to-day operation of the home (such as cooking, cleaning, laundry).
• Performing tasks in accordance with Cardinal Policies and Procedures while following all applicable state regulations.
• Report incidents and accidents as per Cardinal policies and procedures.
• Notify licensed healthcare professionals of issues or errors regarding medications.
• Perform narc counts based on Cardinal policy and procedures.
• Maintaining the home in a safe manner. Notifies someone, i.e., supervisor of any safety or maintenance issues.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director, Director of Wellness, and House Manager.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, highly preferred
• Med Techs must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• CNA or MA preferred

• Ability to complete the necessary physical movements to move residents by wheelchair
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to walk continuously, bend frequently, and sit occasionally
• Ability to lift to fifty (50) pounds occasionally (1-33% of workday)
• Ability to complete and maintain documentation regarding a resident’s status

• Two (2) years’ experience providing basic personal care in a long-term care or healthcare facility
• Valid Driver’s License
