Forklift Operator

Contek are working with one of the UK's largest Construction off‑site fabrication facilities who are part of a group having facilities in London and Kent. Their state‑of‑the‑art fabrication facility and build space, together span an impressive 53,000 square feet of advanced factory accommodation.

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklifts safely, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth logistics flow. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to contribute to a dynamic and organised environment.

• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
• Manage inventory using warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of stock movements.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including checking deliveries and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance as needed to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
• Handle materials carefully, adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and proper stacking.
• Support general warehouse organisation, including cleaning work areas and maintaining safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and minimise delays in material handling processes.

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems and basic mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting and stacking.
• Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures.
• Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is preferred.
• Valid forklift licence or certification is required.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and inventory management.

• Working Hours:
  
  Monday‑Friday 6am‑4pm.
• Saturday overtime available.
