Yard Operative; FLT

Location: ME2 2EG

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm (37.5 hrs/week)

We are recruiting a Yard Operative for a busy yard environment. This is a hands‑on, physical role where heavy lifting and manual handling are essential, with some FLT duties included.

You’ll work alongside drivers, customers, and colleagues to ensure the yard runs safely and efficiently. Industry experience is not essential, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required.

• Loading and unloading products safely and efficiently

• Regular heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the day

• Preparing, packing, and loading deliveries with correct paperwork

• Receiving, checking, and moving stock within the yard

• Operating FLT and other MHE when required

• Carrying out stock checks and reporting movements

• Keeping the yard and equipment clean and safe

• Following all health & safety procedures and SOPs

• Valid FLT licence

• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks

• Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, outdoor work in a fast‑paced yard setting.
