Mechanical Inspector

Mechanical Inspector - An interesting opportunity for a mechanical inspector / CMM programmer to join a small, growing precision engineering and tooling business.

• Fulfil the inspection function across the business.
• Program and operate the CMM using MCosmos.
• Define and enforce inspection procedures, sampling plans and acceptance criteria for incoming materials, in-process production and final products.
• Oversee all metrology equipment (CMM, gauges, micrometers, calipers) and ensure calibration and traceability of measurement systems.
• Perform first article inspections.
• Work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to help resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives and auditing.

• Proven experience in an inspection role within precision engineering, toolmaking, machining or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional control, GD&T, metrology best practice and inspection methods.
• Proficient with measurement equipment including CMMs (ideally MCosmos software).
• IT literate with experience with inspection reporting and MS Office.
