This is a unique opportunity to be part of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and to work at in some of the largest prisons in the UK. You will assist us to provide excellent primary care and emergency response within the prison environment.
Offenders are a challenging population group to work with and they often have complex healthcare needs. Offenders often have chaotic lives in the community and a history of poor engagement with community healthcare services. With high rates of substance misuse and mental health problems, this is a real chance to make a difference.
As part of the role you will be required to work at least two days in a 6-week period to have supervision, talks with colleagues, attended team meetings etc.
In order to work as a bank only worker you will need to have completed preceptorship training or obtained 6 months post qualification experience. This advert is to apply for a bank position to cover our HMP Rochester site specifically, however once you are on the bank you can pick up shifts across Kent prisons if you wish.

Please note:
We have 7 prisons in Kent: HMP Elmley, HMP Swaleside and HMP Standford Hill are all located on the Isle of Sheppey.
HMP Rochester, HMP Cookham Wood, HMP Maidstone and HMP East Sutton Park are in West Kent.
As an Advanced Emergency Care Practitioner (AECP) / Paramedic you will deliver high quality care, ensuring standards are consistently high. You will do this by being competent and having the knowledge to deliver comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
You will provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting by playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care.
