Senior Tax Manager​/Director Designate

We are looking to appoint an experienced Tax Manager / Director Designate to strengthen our Owner‑Managed Business and SME advisory offering. This role sits within a well‑established tax function and will involve advising a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial clients on a broad range of corporate and personal tax matters.

The position offers significant client exposure, responsibility for complex advisory work, and a key role in maintaining technical quality across the wider tax team. It is suited to a senior tax professional who operates comfortably at a strategic level and is seeking a clear pathway towards Director.

• Provide high quality tax advisory services to owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and their shareholders, covering both corporate and personal tax matters
• Lead client meetings to identify issues, assess risk and develop technically robust, commercially appropriate solutions
• Deliver advisory work across areas including corporate structuring, business sales and acquisitions and personal tax planning
• Act as a senior technical resource within the firm, supporting partners and other qualified staff with day to day tax queries
• Take responsibility for a significant proportion of technical reviews, ensuring advice meets internal quality standards prior to issue to clients
• Contribute to the development of technical standards, consistency and best practice across the tax function

You will be a confident, technically strong tax professional with experience operating in a structured, quality‑focused advisory environment.

• CTA qualified
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant tax experience, ideally within a professional services or advisory firm
• Strong technical expertise across corporate and personal taxation, particularly within the OMB / SME market
• Proven experience delivering and reviewing complex tax advice
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and senior internal stakeholders

• Commercially aware, with a pragmatic approach to risk and client outcomes
• Comfortable operating within defined governance and review frameworks
• Demonstrable ambition and capability to progress to Director level

• A senior advisory role with a clearly defined Director Designate pathway
• Exposure to high‑quality, complex OMB and SME tax work
• Structured technical review processes and collaborative working environment
• Strong emphasis on technical excellence, consistency and professional development

• 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), plus 2 days over the Christmas/New Year period set by the firm, plus where your birthday falls on a working day, an additional day for this too.
