This role is for a Stores Person supporting the Engineering department and ensuring that materials, components and equipment are well managed, accurately recorded, and readily available for maintenance and engineering activities. It combines hands‑on warehouse duties with administrative responsibilities, such as stock control, record‑keeping, and coordination with engineering and procurement teams. The position suits someone who enjoys maintaining order, working methodically, and keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

The Stores Person plays a key part in ensuring that engineering teams have the right parts at the right time, contributing directly to efficient maintenance and reduced downtime. The job involves receiving and issuing materials, maintaining accurate stock information, supporting safe working practices, and contributing to improvements in stores processes.

• Receive, check and appropriately store incoming engineering materials and components.
• Maintain accurate stock records, carry out cycle counts, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Issue parts to engineers promptly and prepare outgoing shipments when required.
• Keep the stores area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Support procurement, documentation and continuous improvement within the engineering stores function.

• Experience in an engineering stores or similar stock‑control environment.
• Basic understanding of engineering components and materials handling.
• Strong numeracy, organisation and attention to detail with confidence using IT and inventory systems.
• Able to work independently or as part of a small team, managing workload effectively.
• Physically capable of safe manual handling; a forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
