Starting at £29,187 + 15% shift allowance per annum, plus additional standby payments.

Southern Water is looking for a Shift Controller to assist with the running and upkeep of Burham Water Supply Works.

As a shift controller you will monitor and adjust the operation of the Water Supply Works, applying knowledge of compliance, housekeeping, environmental regulations and health and safety to ensure the site is compliant with water quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee continuous operation of the Water Supply Works to guarantee that no two days are the same.
• Ensure non‑potable water does not leave the site, keeping water quality fit for supply to protect public health.
• Respond to high level alarms and process changes.

Shift pattern: 12‑hour shifts (rotating 4 days on 7 days off, 3 days on 7 days off, 4 nights on 7 days off, 3 nights on 7 days off). On some days off you may be required to cover the standby rota.
