SEMH Specialist Learning Assistant - 1:1 Support

Location: Rochester, Kent
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a full-time SEMH Specialist Learning Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a mainstream primary school in Rochester, Kent.

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
, who can offer consistent, patient, and structured support to help the pupil engage positively with learning and school life.

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's SEMH needs
• Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
• Assisting the pupil to access the curriculum within a mainstream classroom
• Implementing behaviour and support strategies as directed by the SENCO
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs (essential)
• Experience working 1:1 in a primary school or similar setting
• Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
