Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
Overview
Cashier role at The Home Depot. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service, process checkout and/or return transactions, and monitor the Self-Checkout area. They proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities while minimizing shrink through policy adherence. A Head Cashier may expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
They provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervision, coaching, and training of other Front End Associates by participating in training and using available tools to coach and develop Cashiers.
Note: The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service at the front end, processing checkout and returns accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
- Assist customers with product information and selling opportunities.
- Adhere to policies and procedures to minimize shrink and ensure accurate transactions.
- Assist Head Cashier with price checks, POS approvals, and markdowns across relevant areas.
- Escalate customer issues as the first point of contact and participate in training/new-hire coaching.
- Support supervision and coaching of Front End Associates as part of training initiatives.
- 1+ years of cashier experience is preferred for Head Cashier.
