Job Description- A Kroger Bakery Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while encouraging other associates to do the same.
- As a Bakery team member, you will establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return.
- Bakery Clerk assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitors all established quality assurance standards.
- Most importantly, as a Bakery team member you should demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.

- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following recipes.
- Label, pack, and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality, including sell‑by dates.
- Stock and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies.
- Understand store layout for locating items.
- Stay current on seasonal and special ads.
- Maintain inventory awareness and report discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create welcoming customer experiences.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Enforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of needed repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report all safety risks, abuse, or illegal activity.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Desire to gain understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to work as a team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with urgency.
- Good basic math skills.
- Ability to obtain a current food handler permit once employed.
