Overview
As part of the Natural Resources Division, within the Department of Parks and Natural Resources, this seasonal position supports the City’s Natural Resource and Outdoor Engagement programs under the direction of the City Naturalist. The incumbent performs a variety of duties and activities related to supporting outdoor engagement and education programs, volunteer stewardship, and handling wildlife issues. This position will include non-traditional shifts including day, afternoon, evenings and weekends.

- Assists Naturalist and Interpreter with planning and implementing outdoor engagement programs, exhibits, and activities.
- Assists with summer camp, scout group and school group programs.
- Assists with special events and education programs.
- Assists Naturalist and Interpreter with wildlife issues / customer service.
- Assists with care for educational / captive animals.
- Assists with coordinating volunteer stewardship activities.
- Provides support to Natural Resources Division as needed.
- Maintains computer based and non-computer based records and files.
- Utilizes business computers and software.
- Works a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed
- Complies with safe work standards and practices.
- Performs manual labor including lifting, bending, and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree or two (2) years of college level classes in a directly related field.

Oral Evaluation of Qualifications (Interview): To evaluate employment history, communication skills and other factors related to successful performance in this position. (Minimum Passing Score: 70%)
