Role Description

This role serves as a foundational pillar to building strong accounting processes, delivering accurate and timely reporting, and implementing scalable systems that support continued growth as we shape our present and future.

Reporting to the co-founders of the company, the Controller leads all day-to-day accounting operations and serves as one of the key leaders of Finance, Tax, Payroll, and Operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven do-er who combines strong technical accounting expertise with practical operational execution. The ideal candidate brings discipline, clarity, and sound judgment, operates effectively at both summary and detailed levels, and champions ownership, accuracy, training, and accountability across the entire business.

Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable and payable, tax reporting, payroll accounting, revenue recognition and inventory valuation.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls that support clean audits.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity and P&L accuracy across the organization.
  • Reinforce treasury-related accounting with a focus on working capital management, cash visibility, and disciplined bank reconciliation processes.
  • Maintain, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a growing environment.
Strategic Leadership
  • Serve as the CEO and COO’s primary financial thought partner, providing clear, candid guidance on performance, risk, and opportunity while translating complex financial data into actionable business insight.
  • Take ownership of improving profitability by identifying margin expansion opportunities, optimizing cost structures, and building the financial discipline required to consistently grow EBITDA and long-term enterprise value.
  • Help lead the financial strategy behind growth initiatives, including organic expansion and new channels, ensuring capital is deployed thoughtfully and is aligned with the company’s short-term and long-term vision(s).
  • Bring a rigorous, data-driven mindset to decision-making by testing assumptions, building robust models, and challenging conventional thinking—helping the leadership team make smarter, faster, and more confident choices.
Operations and Cross-Functional Oversight
  • Maintain a strong, consistent office presence to reinforce culture, build trust across teams, and model a high standard of accountability, ensuring finance remains deeply connected to day-to-day operations.
  • Work in close partnership with Operations leadership to design and lead efficient, outcomes-driven meetings that surface the right data, clarify priorities, and drive timely, measurable action.
  • Continuously strengthen the company’s internal operating infrastructure by improving tools, documentation, and training programs—equipping all teams with the resources they need to execute consistently, scale effectively, and perform at a higher level.
Qualifications
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting; prior experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Quickbooks accounting software is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.

$90,000 - $110,000, health/dental/vision, 401(k) match and PTO.
