As a Logistics Coordinator at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing plant logistics operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and has strong organizational skills. The position is based in Chicago, IL and will work closely with our Rochelle, IL facility.

• Dispatch and schedule truck loads, ensuring all logistics needs are met.
• Schedule delivery appointments at customer sites to accommodate on‑time deliveries.
• Maintain relationships with Zekelman carrier base and enforce adherence to company rules and regulations.
• Schedule loads to maximize shipments.
• Use TMS, email, and phone to ensure every load is covered and meets customer fill‑rate requirements.
• Research and implement ways to decrease costs without compromising customer service.
• Communicate with management and the sales department on any customer service issue related to carriers.
• Coordinate with the warehouse/shipping department to improve loading efficiencies.
• Proactively communicate with management, sales, and operations.
• Attend onsite full‑time per the posted schedule.
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of logistics experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
• Strong data management and analytical skills.
• Highly detail‑oriented.
• Excellent organization and multi‑tasking capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Base Salary Range: $56,135 (when applicable).

Additional Compensation May Include:

• Performance‑based yearly merit increase
• Profit‑sharing bonus opportunities
