Position: Truck Driver CDL A Home Daily

Position Description

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver. We will buy your truck if you’re looking to switch from Owner Operator to a Company Driver. Join us at Ryder in Rochelle, IL.

Pay: $25.00 per hour, overtime after 40 hours, weekly schedule Monday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Friday, 55–60 hours per week. Hours start at 4:00 PM.

Trucks: 3 years or newer. Dedicated local home‑daily route. Day‑cab tractors, dry‑van trailers, no‑touch drop & hook freight. 24/7 roadside maintenance and refueling at over 800 maintenance facilities.

Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass Ryder drug test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A CDL experience: 9 months within last 3 years OR 2 years within last 5 years OR 5 years within last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performing other duties as assigned
