PositionSummary
The Patient Care Tech, under the direct supervision of the Occupational Health Nurse or the Occupational Health provider, assists in providing services in the Occupational Health department. These services include but are not limited to preparing clients for employment related exams, performing collection of urine/hair drug screens, Breath alcohol testing, general office and clerical tasks.
Education/Licensure or credentials- Must have high school diploma / GED
- CNA certification optimal.
- Minimum of 2 years medical office experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge and use of computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
- Willingness to work as a part of the team is a must.
- CPR certified
- BLS certified
- Maintain BLS/CPR Certifications.
- Complete annual Employee Health / Training requirements.
- Maintain certification in Drug and Alcohol testing collections
- The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
- The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population.
- Some exposure to communicable disease with likelihood of harm if established health precautions are not followed.
- The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasional bending, sitting, stooping and stretching.
- Work in normal patient care/clinic environment where there are minimal physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.

- Have full range of body motion and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Have normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports; specific vision requirements to include near vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
- The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis.
