Positions: EA (Education Assistants) – Two positions at Sweetgrass School

Sweetgrass First Nation is currently accepting applications for 2 Full-time EA (Educational Assistants). Sweetgrass is a K4 to Grade 8 school, with about 85 students, operated on the Sweetgrass First Nation, located about 35 km west of North Battleford, SK.

• A Care aide certification would be essential.
• Must be responsible and show up to work every day and on time.
• Must enjoy working with children.

• Ability to work effectively with a student with special needs, utilizing specific skills and training.
• Ability to provide intellectual, behavior and functional support at K-8 levels.
• The ability to use patience, tolerance and understanding in developing and maintaining a rapport with students and in resolving problems or conflicts that may arise.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators and outside agencies.
• Ability to organize workload, work under periodic pressure and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform physical activities, such as lifting, transferring and assisting students in a variety of activities and providing personal care as necessary.
