Due to growth, we’re looking for an Audit Semi Senior to join the team on site in our office in Rochdale.

You’ll be assisting and advising on audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio. This includes completion of audit tests, overseeing junior members of the team on the audit, and completion and review of audit work. The audit client base is varied; ideally we’re looking for candidates with experience of auditing charities.

• Completion and reviewing of audit work and testing
• Processing accounts and audit journals and preparing the statutory accounts, including all notes and disclosures; user knowledge of FRS
  102 and FRS an advantage
• Preparation of corporation tax returns including capital allowances computations
• Assist in training junior staff and providing feedback
• Occasional ad‑hoc assistance in accounting assignments
• Directly liaising with clients

• ACA / ACCA part‑qualified
• Previous audit experience within an accountancy practice, ideally with some charities experience
• Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards, company law etc.
• Good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax; awareness of VAT and payroll taxes advantageous
• Confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• Developed good client liaison skills and work well as part of a team
• Analytical skills and attention to detail, ability to think laterally to identify potential problems and provide solutions
• Show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of issues from start to finish
• Experience of working on a wide range of clients
• Computer literate, including good Excel experience; working knowledge of MyWorkpapers and Mercia audit methodology would also be helpful
• Willing and able to work under pressure and cope flexibly with demanding deadlines
