Location: Rochdale, Greater ManchesterPay Rate: £35.00 per hour (Umbrella)Contract: Full-Time Agency Hybrid Working
Rochdale Council is seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This team provides specialist support for children with diagnosed disabilities, complex health needs, and their families, while also managing safeguarding cases where child protection concerns arise.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake assessments and provide care planning for children with disabilities and complex health needs
- Manage a mixed caseload, including safeguarding and child protection cases
- Support Cared for Children in line with Care Planning and Fostering Regulations
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including SEN, RAN, Educational Psychology, and HI/VI colleagues
- Participate in Child Protection Conferences, statutory reviews, and Public Law Outline proceedings
- Provide advice, support, and guidance to families, promoting positive outcomes for children
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, in line with council policies
- Contribute to team development and continuous improvement in service delivery
- Qualified Social Worker - Degree/Diploma in Social Work
- Social Work England registration
- Experience working with children with disabilities, complex health needs, or safeguarding cases
- Knowledge of Care Planning, Fostering Regulations, and child protection legislation
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong multi-agency collaboration skills and commitment to positive outcomes for children and families
We are seeking experienced Social Workers with expertise in Children with Disabilities (CWD), safeguarding, child protection, and statutory care planning. Candidates with experience in Cared for Children, Section 20 placements, Full Care Orders, Public Law Outline, and multi-agency working will be well-suited. Ideal applicants will have experience collaborating with SEN, RAN, Educational Psychology, and HI/VI teams, and be looking for agency social work roles in Greater Manchester with a competitive £35 p/h umbrella rate.
