The Profit & Asset Protection Team Leader will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the Returns & Stock Control Department and the Stock Removals process at the Rochdale – Kingsway DC. The role is responsible for ensuring daily targets are achieved, maintaining accuracy, and delivering a high standard of customer service.
Responsibilities- Distribute work fairly across the team to achieve and maintain targets while upholding high accuracy standards.
- Identify and resolve departmental operational issues.
- Oversee all aspects of Returns & Stock Control, including retail returns, problem stocks, clearance pricing, multi‑channel returns, stock removals, supplier returns, audits, general queries, and eBay.
- Report quality or product issues to relevant departments.
- Monitor adjustment levels within the DC, analyze data, and report findings.
- Maintain audit trail of cartons dispatched from the DC.
- Trace discrepancies reported by stores and investigate “Fast Track” IBT discrepancies.
- Audit stocks destined for and passed on to jobbers, and supervise removal of ‘End of Line’ stocks.
- Ensure all returns are regularly collected.
- Perform spot checks and oversee stocks destined for disposal, including lost property.
- Assist in the ongoing development of departmental members.
- Deputize for the Returns & Stock Control Supervisor in their absence.
- Complete any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks in line with business needs.
- Develop new processes within the department.
- Previous first‑line management experience in a distribution environment preferred.
- Experience in Returns or Stock Control preferred but not essential.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High literacy and numeracy to produce documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to prioritize work.
