Mechanical Fitter - Days or Shifts

Pay: £17.26 - £22.43 (pay award pending) plus additional increments via skills grading scheme plus shift allowance.
OTE: £50,000 per annum.
Shifts: 4-5 day week rotational.
Overtime: Opportunity to work overtime at enhanced rates.

To build specialised machinery within established build times, carrying out fitting and assembly. Follow planned operations to completion at prescribed production rates to meet customer delivery schedule in accordance with Company H&S and Quality Policies. Fit and assemble mechanical components exposed to motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Collaborate with colleagues and provide training if required.

• Build specialised machinery within established build times.
• Carry out fitting and assembly of mechanical components.
• Follow planned operations to meet delivery schedule.
• Work with motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Collaborate and provide training as needed.
• Service and repair client’s equipment across heavy plant machinery and general mechanical work.

• Mechanical fitter experience.
• Basic metalwork functions: drilling, tapping and machining.
• High quality work focus.
• Good attendance record and excellent time-keeping.
• Work in a safe manner per company Health & Safety policies.
• Competent in reading engineering drawings.

• Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Competent and experienced fitter with solid background in engineering.
• Understanding/knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proficient interpreting engineering drawings.
• Willingness to upskill and cross‑functional development via grading scheme.
• Further education opportunities.
