We’re seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Area Manager to join a leading HV contractor, working on major substation projects for the National Grid. This is a hybrid position, ideally suited for someone based north of Birmingham and willing to travel as needed.

• Oversee multiple HV substation civils projects across the region
• Lead and develop site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to spec
• Manage client relationships, reporting directly to senior leadership
• Ensure all work complies with National Grid standards and HSEQ requirements
• Contribute to tendering, planning, and resource allocation

• Strong civils engineering background, ideally degree-qualified or equivalent
• Proven track record managing HV substation projects (National Grid experience essential)
• Must have NG Authorisations – National Grid Person (lapsed) as a minimum
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• In-depth knowledge of UK HSEQ standards with an associated qualification
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

• £67,000 base salary
