We are seeking a confident and reliable Science Cover Supervisor to join our team in Rochdale. The successful candidate will supervise secondary science classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged with their learning and that lessons run smoothly.
You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and support students in completing set work across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage secondary science classes when teachers are absent
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and lesson outcomes
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, particularly within science classrooms
- A degree in Science
- Previous experience covering lessons in secondary school science classrooms
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students aged 11–16
- A professional, organised, and flexible approach to work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
