The Governing Body at Springside Special School are seeking to appoint a conscientious and committed Deputy Headteacher.

At Springside Primary Special School, we believe that exceptional leadership begins with care, courage and connection. We are a vibrant, inclusive community where learners with significant and complex needs are known deeply, valued unconditionally and supported to thrive in their own unique ways.

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who leads with heart as well as skill, someone who understands that care, behaviour, safeguarding and learning are inseparable. This is a role for a thoughtful, resilient and values driven leader who can balance strategic oversight with a calm, compassionate presence in the everyday life of the school.

You will be a trusted partner to the Headteacher, a visible and supportive leader for staff, and a reassuring, collaborative presence for families and professionals. Above all, you will share our belief that every learner deserves dignity, safety, joy and opportunity, and you will be committed to building systems, cultures and relationships that make this a lived reality.

If you are motivated by purpose, inspired by complexity and energised by teamwork, we would be delighted to welcome you to our Springside community.

Springside is a new-build special school co-located with a mainstream primary school.

Informal visits to both sites are warmly welcome. Please email Recruit men to request a visit.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.

Applicants are advised that by applying for this position they are declaring that they are not subject to any immigration controls or restrictions that prohibit them undertaking work in the UK, and that they are able to provide proof of their Right to Work in the UK if they are invited to attend an interview.
