Driver Class B HAZMAT Truck Driver / Equipment Operator

Clean Harbors is seeking a Class B CDL Driver to operate light and heavy‑duty trucks and equipment at our customer sites in Roanoke, VA. This role involves driving and non‑driving duties on and off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean‑up.

Base pay range: $17.00/hr – $41.00/hr
. The role also includes an hourly range of $25.00 – $28.00 for travel/on call/emergency response. All new hires must attend a two‑week training academy; travel expenses are paid and a per diem is provided.

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Ensure customer satisfaction at the time of service.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT local, state (provincial) and federal requirements.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• By position, be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• By position, perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

• Valid Class B CDL.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Tanker/HAZMAT endorsement required.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions as required by the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Meet OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard facial hair requirements for respirator use.

• Commercial driver experience.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous manual labor experience.
