Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Director of Community Engagement, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

You excel in startup environments. You have a proven track record with high-net-worth clients who demand white-glove service. You are convinced AI can transform education and enjoy defending that conviction to doubters. If any of this feels unappealing, this position is not the right fit.

Alpha is not a conventional school. We are a technology startup demonstrating that every child possesses exceptional potential. Our students complete core academics in only two hours daily through AI-driven applications, dedicating the remainder of their time to real-world competencies: public speaking, critical thinking, collaborative challenges, and meaningful projects. No traditional lectures. No filler assignments. Only accelerated learning and top 1% performance nationally.

Parents demand concierge-level service. You will regularly defend this approach against screen time objections, traditional education critics, and "this seems too good to be true" resistance.

During year zero and year one, this functions as an enrollment sales position. You control the complete funnel from initial inquiry to executed enrollment agreement, managing conversion targets and CRM systems. We will not launch a campus with fewer than 25 enrolled students. Reaching that threshold is your responsibility. You will deliver compelling info sessions, lead one-on-one campus tours, follow up persistently, and close enrollment agreements.

After achieving 25 students and bringing on an admissions director, your role evolves into the campus’s lead parent-facing executive. You will cultivate loyalty, address concerns with white-glove attention, and convert satisfied parents into vocal advocates who drive referrals.

This position offers high trust and high autonomy with transparent accountability. You will operate independently without extensive administrative infrastructure, marketing resources, or established operational playbooks. Plans adapt based on performance data. Systems are emerging. You will create them. You will spend the majority of your time in the community (coffee conversations, lunch networking, Chamber of Commerce participation) rather than at a desk.

You will maintain visibility during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. You will participate in evening parent gatherings and occasional weekend student programming. A single misaligned family within a cohort of 25 can destabilize the entire group, making the ability to decline wrong-fit families as critical as enrolling aligned ones.

The upside? You will observe transformations rarely seen by most educators: skeptical parents evolving into passionate advocates, reserved students presenting with confidence to adults, families selecting your campus over prestigious private institutions. You will create something from the ground up and own the outcomes.

If you believe most schools are underserving children and a superior alternative exists, this is your opportunity to demonstrate it.

  • Control the enrollment sales pipeline during year 0-1, managing from inquiry through signed agreement, with conversion targets and CRM oversight until the 25-student threshold is met
