Key Responsibilities- Works under minimal supervision to install HVAC equipment and accessories in residential or light commercial settings.
- Installs heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, and accessories in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Performs limited diagnostics as needed.
- Designs, fabricates, and installs ducts and duct fittings.
- Conducts start‑ups on HVAC systems and other components.
- Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promotes company products and services to customers, forwarding sales leads to the Sales and Service Coordinator.
- Handles delivery and removal of equipment required for installation.
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used, maintained, and accounted for.
- Completes all paperwork accurately and on time; collects payment.
- Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters.
- Maintains a clean and presentable installation vehicle.
- Follows standard procedures, stocks the vehicle, returns defective parts, and replenishes supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Reports unsafe acts, hazards, or policy violations to the direct supervisor immediately.
- Operates personal protective equipment and follows safety procedures.
- Participates in safety initiatives and reports incidents promptly.
- Provides input on developing safety initiatives to eliminate hazardous exposures.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and 2‑5 years of HVAC experience; technical training certification required.
- Valid licensing or certification as required by local regulations.
- EPA and safety certifications.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment operation.
- Proficient installation and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, ductwork, and accessories.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment, including a company vehicle.
- Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems.
- Effective communication and customer‑resolution skills.
- Efficient time‑management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Availability for flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces; lift up to 75 pounds.
- Adaptability to various environmental conditions (hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, humid, etc.).
