Sales, Marketing & Business Development Manager – Household Goods & Moving (Food Services)

The Sales, Marketing & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through a strategic combination of sales leadership, marketing initiatives, and business development efforts within our Household Goods and Moving division. This role leads the sales team while developing marketing strategies that strengthen brand visibility, generate qualified leads, and expand market presence across residential and commercial moving services. This position plays a key role in aligning sales, marketing, and operations to deliver consistent, high‑quality customer experience from initial inquiry through booking and move completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Recruit, train, onboard, and evaluate sales representatives.
  • Set individual and team sales goals and monitor performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive inbound and outbound leads for household goods moving services (local, long‑distance, interstate, storage).
  • Partner with leadership to enhance brand awareness and market positioning.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives including digital advertising, website lead flow, referral programs, and community outreach.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics such as lead sources, cost per lead, and conversion rates.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and referral relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, relocation companies, real estate professionals, and strategic partners.
  • Support expansion into new service offerings or geographic markets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and community activities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for household goods moving services (local, long‑distance, interstate, and storage).
  • Oversee pricing, estimating accuracy, and margin management.
  • Review and approve estimates, contracts, and special pricing when needed.
  • Analyze sales data, conversion rates, and market trends to improve performance.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and booking process.
  • Manage escalated customer inquiries, objections, and service concerns.
  • Work closely with operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of booked moves.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, and industry regulations related to household goods moving.
  • Maintain accurate sales records in CRM and estimating systems.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and ethical sales practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years of sales experience in household goods moving, logistics, or transportation.
  • Proven experience leading sales teams and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts including lead generation, campaign performance, and conversion optimization.
  • Knowledge of moving estimates, pricing structures, and industry regulations.
