SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

" Shift hours: 3x12s, nights. 7p-7a

" Charting: EPIC experience required

" Weekend Requirement:
May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

" RTO: ALL requests must be included with the submission.

" Call off Policy:
Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.

" Holiday Requirement:
Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

" Accept First-Time Travelers:
Yes.

" Locals Accepted? No. Refer to Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.

" Pending License Accepted:
Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license.

Neonates < 24-28 weeks, Neonates 29-34 weeks, Neonates > 34 weeks

" IV therapy:
Administration of blood & blood products, Arterial line management, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Starting and maintaining IVs, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)

" Medications/Emergency Medications:
Anti-Seizure Medications, Antibiotics/Antivirals, IV vasopressors, Neonatal Dosage Calculations, Steroids, Surfactants

" Respiratory support:
Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), High Frequency Ventilation, Management of Chest Tubes, Meconium Aspiration, Nitric Oxide (INo), Oscillators, Oxygen Delivery Systems, Respiratory distress syndrome, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Tracheostomy care/management, Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

" Gastrointestinal:
Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk, Colostomy/Ileostomy care, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Gastroschisis/Omphalocele, Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, Post Abdominal Surgery

" Neurological:
Assist with lumbar puncture, Intracranial Pressure Monitoring
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Seizure disorders, Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), Ventricular Peritoneal (VP) Shunts

UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING

" Ratios: (goals) ICU 1:2. Intermediate is 1:4.

" Patient diagnoses:
Extreme Prematurity 22 weeks+, Omphalocele, Gastroschisis
Respiratory Distress, Meconium Aspiration, Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension
TE fistula, Diaphragmatic Hernia, Trisomy 21, Cystic Hygroma, Intraventricular Hemorrhage, Necrotizing Enterocolitis, Skeletal Dysplasia, Hydrocephalus
Volvulus, Intestinal Failure, Hyperglycemia, Chronic Lung Disease, Myelomeningocele, Seizures, All patients except those needing ECMO or heart surgery

" 60 bed Level 3 NICU made of 5 pods. They support both ICU and Intermediate Level care.

" Equipment:
High-Frequency Jet Ventilator, High-Frequency Oscillator, Artic Sun cooling blanket, Tortle positioning aids, Alaris Infusion Pumps, Giraffe Incubators and radiant warmers, Stryker Bassinets, Medfusion Infusion Pumps
Kangaroo Pumps, Client phototherapy lights and blankets

" Floating:
Will be required to float within skillset
