Friendship is looking for a Full Time Director of Quality Assurance & Infection Control RN/LPN to join our Friendship Health and Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA. The quality assurance nurse evaluates nursing practices within a department to help maximize efficiency and optimize patient care.
Full Time RN/LPN Sign On Bonus - $10,000 paid out in equal installments over 40 pay period
- Identify problems, plan solutions and oversee all areas of infection control measures
- Monitor on a consistent basis trends/patterns of infections in the facility and initiate immediate corrective action
- Review related policies/procedures and revise as indicated
- Participate in regulatory surveys such as State Survey
- Supervise staff performance as they perform their responsibilities, advise staff on areas of improvement and teach skills as needed
- Conduct in‑services for education of staff
- Track/maintain immunization documentation and COVID data
Qualifications:
- Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia required
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution or equivalent graduation from an approved RN/LPN program
- BLS required/ACLS preferred
- Five years of relevant clinical experience
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) should be achieved within two years in the position
- Experience in a long-term care facility preferred
- Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines as they relate to long-term care
- Previous experience in teaching, curriculum development and instruction is desired
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
