Reflex Staffing Solutions has been engaged to assist our client with a search for a Plant Manager for their Lewis County, KY facility. Our client leads globally in the manufacturing of innovative fiberglass products.
This highly visible position will work closely with the CEO by establishing and monitoring KPI’s for the plant and by providing leadership to the day-to-day operations of the facility that helps drive culture change throughout the organization.
Position OverviewThe Plant Manager will be responsible for the general supervision of all phases of plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, receiving, and shipping.
Responsibilities also include facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvements. The Plant Manager will help develop an annual budget and will ensure its execution.
This position will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within all areas of manufacturing.
- Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets
- Monitor operation expenses and develop ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality, including the removal of waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
- Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety technician to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies in order to provide a safe workplace
- Responsible for meeting all environmental standards as set forth in the Title V permit, including testing, recording, and reporting
- Maintain and support metrics demonstrating the success of superior safety and housekeeping programs
- Maintain security and sanitation initiatives for the facility
- Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments and ensure inventory levels are appropriate while operating at optimal efficiency
- Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, yearly initiatives across the different departments of Production, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Maintenance, Environmental, Safety, Shipping, and Scheduling
- Partner with Human Resources to determine and maintain staffing levels, hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel, provide coaching and guidance, and conduct performance appraisals of all operations employees
- Work with purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships
- Strong leadership and technical manufacturing experience
- BS degree in Engineering along with strong technical knowledge is preferred
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of hands‑on plant floor management
- Previous P&L and plant maintenance knowledge is desirable
