Job Title: Senior Warehouse Manager

Reports To: Director of Supply Chain / Operations

Scope: Large-scale warehouse & distribution operations

Position Summary

Virginia Transformer is seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Manager to lead and scale warehouse and distribution center operations in a complex, high-volume industrial environment. This role requires deep, hands-on warehouse and distribution center management experience
, including facility layout, equipment selection, labor planning, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and safety.

This is not a stretch or developmental role
. We are seeking a proven warehouse leader who has successfully managed large square-footage facilities
, led sizable teams, and delivered measurable improvements in productivity, accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery.

Warehouse & Distribution Leadership

• Lead all day-to-day warehouse and distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
• Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and space utilization to support production and customer fulfillment.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of internal manufacturing and external customer requirements.

Facility Setup & Expansion

• Lead or support warehouse startup, relocation, or expansion activities.
• Drive facility layout design, racking strategy, and material flow planning.
• Select and implement material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, conveyors, racking).
• Execute staffing, training, and go-live activities against aggressive timelines.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

• Own inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and reconciliation processes.
• Establish and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, and obsolescence.
• Partner with Planning, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure material availability and flow.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and hourly teams.
• Establish staffing models, shift structures, and labor standards.
• Drive accountability, engagement, and performance across the workforce.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Own warehouse safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Ensure safe operation and certification of material handling equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready facilities (5S).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, throughput, and space utilization.
• Implement standard work, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
• Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Engineering.

Systems & Reporting

• Leverage WMS and ERP systems to track performance and drive data-driven decisions.
