Virginia Transformer Corporation (VTC) is one of the largest privately held power transformer manufacturers in North America, serving utilities, data centers, renewables, industrial, and infrastructure markets. With significant investment in domestic manufacturing capacity and engineering excellence, VTC plays a critical role in supporting grid modernization and the accelerating transition to renewable energy.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Sales – Renewables is a senior executive leader responsible for setting and executing the company’s commercial strategy across the renewable energy market, including solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable infrastructure.

This role owns revenue growth, margin performance, market positioning, and customer relationships within the renewables vertical. The VP of Sales – Renewables will lead a national sales organization, partner closely with operations and engineering leadership, and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team driving long‑term growth.

This is a hands‑on, on‑site executive role in Roanoke, VA, requiring strong market expertise, executive presence, and the ability to align commercial strategy with manufacturing capacity and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Define and execute the company’s renewables sales strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and capacity planning.
  • Drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share across solar, wind, BESS, and renewable infrastructure segments.
  • Identify emerging market trends, policy-driven opportunities, and long‑term demand signals within the renewable energy ecosystem.
  • Serve as the senior executive interface for key renewable developers, EPCs, utilities, and strategic partners.
  • Lead major commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and long-cycle project pursuits.
  • Build trusted, long‑term customer relationships focused on reliability, delivery performance, and technical capability.
  • Lead, develop, and scale the renewables sales organization, including AVPs, regional sales leaders, and sales engineers.
  • Establish performance expectations, incentive structures, and accountability aligned with revenue and margin objectives.
  • Partner with HR and executive leadership on talent development, succession planning, and organizational design.
