Maintenance Technician - Roanoke

Job description

Fidura & Associates, Incorporated has a position available in the Roanoke & Staunton region. The Maintenance Technician will provide basic maintenance for four (4) group homes. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• completing basic, structural repairs such as patching drywall, repairing broken glass, repairing floor damage, mounting grab bars
• repairing doors and door locks
• responding to minor plumbing needs
• maintaining light fixtures
• yard work (grass cutting, raking leaves, trimming hedges, removing bulk trash, being proactive in rodent/snake control)
• assembly/repair of furniture and appliances (assembling new furniture, repairing damaged furniture, maintaining vacuum cleaners)
• painting as needed
• replacing keys, having keys made
• troubleshooting
• Conducting routine inspections in the residential units; this may include:
  • replacing filters as scheduled
  • monitoring smoke detectors and fire extinguishers; purchase, repair, replace as needed
• Assists in moving furniture

Maintenance experience and own tools strongly preferred

• Hours worked must be between Monday & Friday - between 30 to 40 Hours Per Week, No Weekends

• Must be able to bend, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation and acceptable driving record (mileage reimbursed for all job-related travel)
• Must be willing to travel between Roanoke and Staunton region on a regular basis
• Must maintain and properly communicate an active telephone number for required company contacts
• Ability to complete all required documentation, including but not limited to work orders, purchase orders and time sheets

Job Type: Full-Time covering both the Roanoke and Staunton Region;
Part-Time only covering the Roanoke Region

Pay: $18.00 to $21.91 per hour

Expected hours:
Between 30 to 40 hours per week

Schedule:

• 4 to 8 hour shifts
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Maintenance:
  Knowledge of basic home repairs

Ability to Relocate:

• Roanoke, VA 24018:
  Relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Work Location:
In person and must be willing to travel between the Roanoke and Staunton region on a regular basis
