Job DescriptionWe are looking for passionate caregivers for memory care. ($2.50 shift differential for evening and night shifts.)
Requirements:
- PCA (Personal Care Aide)/Direct Care 40‑hour training certificate (issued in Virginia)
- Nurses Aide or Medication Aide training certificate

- Provide dementia care including adapted ADLs, meaningful engagement, and communication following a person‑centered service plan.
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and transportation to programs and meals while encouraging independence.
- Participate in team meetings and behavioral expression discussions with community leadership.
- Know residents' life stories, preferences, and historical routines to tailor care.
- Serve meals and assist in dementia‑friendly menu preparation.
- Initiate and lead daily engagement programs such as Daily Path, Solace, or other person‑centered activities.
- Maintain accurate daily records of medication, engagement, incidents, and observations according to company policy.
- Administer medication when permitted by state regulations and physician orders, following all policies.
- Perform housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for residents.
- Respond promptly to emergency pull cords, phone calls, and other resident requests.
- Monitor residents’ locations and notify supervisors when any resident is unaccounted for.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperative interactions with co‑workers.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED and three to six months related experience preferred, or equivalent training in direct service with older adults living with dementia.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other RequirementsIn accordance with state law, candidates may need to possess current state certification and follow regulations to maintain certification.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions- Standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires interaction with co‑workers, residents, or vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work; on‑call as needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, drugs, chemicals, and biological hazards.
- Potential injury from falls, burns, odors, cuts from equipment, or transferring residents.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Standard and routine decisions are based on detailed guidelines with limited independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.
Knowledge and SkillsBasic level of skill, understands written or verbal instructions, basic technical skills, and basic organizational knowledge. Capable of reading and comprehending simple instructions, writing simple correspondence, and communicating effectively in English. Applies common sense and good judgment in emergency situations.
