Friendship is looking for a Respiratory Therapist to join our Friendship Health and Rehab team, located in Roanoke and Salem, VA. The Respiratory Therapist performs basic and advanced therapeutic, diagnostic and life support respiratory care procedures. They will assess, plan, and implement individual treatment plans to meet the needs of each resident.
- Complete screenings and patient evaluations according to departmental policies and procedures
- Establish, implement and execute goal‑oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments
- Adhere to departmental, organization and regulatory agency policies and procedures
- Evaluate treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessary
- Participate in program development, quality assurance and improvement efforts
- Identify areas of opportunity to improve quality of care for residents and/or improve departmental operations
- Associate degree and/or certification required from a CoARC (Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care Education) approved school of respiratory therapy.
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Experience in a long‑term care/rehabilitation facility preferred
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
