IV Pharmacy Technician

IV Pharmacy Technician position at Pharm Techs Only (Rx relief). Responsibilities include executing direct technical procedures of drug admixture and preparation, along with supply and equipment management under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in a licensed pharmacy. You will perform the technical aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control.

• Compound and admix medications under physician supervision, ensuring orders are complete, accurate, and compliant with OSHA and interoffice guidelines.
• Verify patient information, physician authorization, and insurance approvals before admixture.
• Calculate precise dosage volumes, including converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
• Maintain accurate logs for all medications, including lot numbers, temperatures, protocol drugs, and patient assistance drugs.
• Conduct weekly counts of controlled drugs and perform monthly checks for outdated medications and other quality assurance activities.
• Perform inventory control, including receiving and shelving medications.
• Assist in maintaining adequate standard drug supplies across all departments.
• Properly dispose of all materials used in compounding chemo and non-chemo IVs.
• Clean hoods daily or as per policy and procedures to minimize particle counts.
• Prepare labels and assist with billing and filing.
• Perform efficient data entry into pharmacy and admixture systems.
• Order medications and supplies as directed.
• Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and pharmacy department.

  High School Diploma or equivalent

  2+ years, pharmacy/IV admixture experience; chemo experience preferred

  Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 13-week ongoing assignment
• Pay: $22.00 per hour (DOE)
• Background/Drug Requirements:
  Willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen
