Position:
Kaizen Controls Engineer
Duties:
Responsible for driving Kaizen initiatives, implementing automation solutions, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production operations. Play a crucial role in optimizing production processes through continuous improvement principles, with a focus on automation technology and lean manufacturing practices. Lead Kaizen continuous improvement projects by identifying areas for improvement setting objectives, and driving initiatives focused on improving productivity, quality, and safety.
Design, develop and implement automation systems and solutions to streamline manufacturing processes, increase throughout, and reduce cycle time and waste. Collect and analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and process enhancements. Ensure all automation systems and Kaizen projects adhere to company safety standards, industry regulations, and best practices. Collaborate with production teams to refine processes, reduce defects, and minimize downtime through automated solutions and lea methodologies.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, maintenance, IT, quality, and suppliers to identify challenges and deliver effective automation solutions. Provide training to operators and technicians on new automation systems and Kaizen methodologies to ensure sustainable improvements. Manage Kaizen and automation-related projects from concept to implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Create work instructions and documentation that benefit the Production and Controls Engineering Teams.
Research innovative technologies and develop new applications that improve overall plant performance. Perform root cause analysis on production issues, leveraging automation to eliminate recurring problems and enhance long-term operational efficiency. Provide and support continuous process improvements by working independently and with Teams, as needed or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
1½ years of experience in the job offered, or in an automation or manufacturing engineering position within the automotive frame industry. Experience must include analyzing, developing and implementation of automation projects in manufacturing assembly lines. Must have hands-on experience with automation manufacturing systems to improve quality, safety, savings, improvements and refurbishment. Experience can be gained concurrently.
