General Manager – Dry-Type Pad-Mount Transformer Business

Reports To: Executive Leadership

Location: Onsite / As Required

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are announcing the formation of a new, fully integrated business group focused on the design, manufacture, sale, and lifecycle support of dry‑type pad‑mount transformers. This group will operate under a General Manager with full P&L responsibility.

The mission is to deliver lowest‑cost, competitively priced, U.S.‑manufactured dry‑type pad‑mount transformers, produced in scalable batch volumes (100 units or more), serving high‑growth and infrastructure‑driven markets.

This role requires a leader who can integrate engineering, manufacturing, sales, and execution into a single operating model, balancing cost, quality, speed, and market responsiveness.

Core Responsibilities

  • P&L Ownership & Business Leadership
  • Full accountability for profit and loss, including revenue growth, margins, cost structure, and capital deployment
  • Own the business strategy, operating plan, and long‑term growth roadmap for the dry‑type pad‑mount transformer portfolio
  • Build and lead a cross‑functional leadership team with clear accountability
  • Establish performance metrics, forecasting discipline, and operational rigor
  • Market‑driven quantity and pricing requirements
  • Applicable IEEE, ANSI, UL, and utility specifications
  • U.S. manufacturing and sourcing constraints
  • Drive standardization, modular design, and design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) to reduce cost and lead time
  • Manufacturing Engineering & Production
  • Lead a manufacturing engineering team responsible for:
  • Production line design and layout
  • Manufacturing processes and routings
  • Tooling, machinery, automation, and testing infrastructure
  • Quality systems and in‑process testing
  • Establish repeatable production capability for batch production of 100+ dry‑type pad‑mount units
  • Drive continuous improvement in throughput, yield, safety, and cost
  • Sales & Market Execution
  • Lead a dedicated sales organization responsible for selling dry‑type pad‑mount transformers into all target markets, including:
  • Data Centers
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Renewable Energy
  • Bitcoin Mining
  • Utility, industrial, and specialty dry‑type applications
  • Own go‑to‑market strategy, pricing models, customer segmentation, and key account relationships
  • Align customer commitments with engineering and manufacturing capacity
  • Field Service & Warranty Support
  • Build and lead a field service team supporting:
  • Installation and commissioning of dry‑type pad‑mount transformers
  • Start‑up support and troubleshooting
  • Warranty execution and customer issue resolution
  • Establish feedback loops from field service into engineering and manufacturing for continuous improvement
  • Project, Contract & Order Management
  • Establish and lead a project and contract management team
  • Implement a new order entry and project tracking system to improve:
  • Order accuracy and configuration control
  • Schedule adherence and delivery performance
  • Margin visibility and change management
  • Ensure disciplined contract review and risk mitigation

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Business Unit Leader, or senior leader with full P&L ownership
  • Strong background in transformers, electrical equipment, or engineered industrial products
  • Direct experience with dry‑type transformers and/or pad‑mount applications strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to scale products from design through volume manufacturing
  • Strong operational, commercial, and people leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred)
