HII Mission Technologies is seeking talented engineers who are excited to work in a flipped engineering environment. Candidates will lead a team performing reverse engineering tasks on existing products and encoding discoveries directly into our codebase. Additional research, design and development of automated algorithms to improve reverse engineering efficiency will also be performed.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensure software standards are met.
- Position will be onsite in Roanoke, VA.
- United States citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience with object‑oriented programming languages (C++, Java, Python).
- Exposure to basic logic gates and Boolean math (AND, OR).
- Ability to learn new skills quickly.
- 0 years experience with Bachelors and/or Masters in related field (minimum required).
- Active security clearance.
- Experience with modern C++ standards (>=C++17) and STL.
- Experience with Python.
- Demonstrate the use of design patterns.
- Developed using software development processes (Agile, TDD, etc.).
- Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience with FPGA design software (Quartus, ISE, Vivado, etc.).
- Experience with software reverse engineering (IDA Pro, Ghidra, etc.).
- Proficient with source control systems (git, svn, perforce, etc.).
- Experience with code review process.
- Experience with binary patching.
- Experience bypassing encryption schemes (power glitching, side‑channel attacks, etc.).
- Published research regarding cybersecurity, software exploitation, or reverse engineering.
- Ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Capability to use hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipment.
- Adequate vision to read screens and documents.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Occasional ability to lift or move office materials up to 20 lbs.
