Section Chief of Vascular Surgery and Director of Aortic Center
The Department of Surgery at Carilion Clinic – Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke is recruiting a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon to lead the Section of Vascular Surgery and serve as Director of the Aortic Center. The role will oversee a team of six surgeons and seven advanced practice providers in a clinic-based academic program with opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical surgery.
ResponsibilitiesThe Chief will direct clinical, educational, and research activities for the Section. The position will lead a dynamic group practice that provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients supported by state-of-the-art technology and advanced diagnostic tools. The Vascular Surgery group will provide comprehensive vascular, aortic, and endovascular surgery and collaborate with cardiothoracic surgery teams to offer advanced aortic solutions.
Qualifications- MD/DO
- Residency or fellowship training in Vascular Surgery
- Robust experience in complex endovascular aortic interventions
- Board Certification in Vascular Surgery
- Academic appointment at VTCSOM
- At least 5 years of progressive surgical leadership in an academic setting with rank of at least Associate Professor
- Evidence of strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Physician leadership experience with emphasis on team building, integrated collaborative models of care, education, and research; managing people and programs
- Experience with graduate medical education preferred
