Position Summary:
The Contracts Specialist is responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts and related documents to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and client expectations. This role serves as a liaison between internal departments, vendors, and customers to manage risk and support the timely execution of business agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including NDAs, purchase agreements, service agreements, subcontracts, and amendments.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from initiation through closeout, including renewals and terminations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Project Management teams to align contract terms with business objectives.
- Maintain accurate and organized contract records and ensure all documentation is properly stored and accessible.
- Track key contract dates, deliverables, and obligations, ensuring timely action on renewals, extensions, or notices.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks; elevate complex issues to management as appropriate.
- Support bid and proposal teams by reviewing RFPs and preparing contractual sections of proposals.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contract management processes and best practices.
- Continuously improve contract templates, workflows, and compliance processes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master’s or JD a plus).
- 3–7 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal support, preferably in construction, government, manufacturing, or IT.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and procurement processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and contract management tools.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across departments.
