Opportunity SummaryThe Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technician at the Rosemary Power Station plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The technician supports equipment startup, shutdown, routine operation, and inspections, collaborates with maintenance teams, and uses a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to sustain high performance and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Your scope of responsibility- Support plant startup, shutdown, and routine operations while adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Operate and monitor power generation systems, including combustion turbines, steam turbines, and auxiliary equipment such as air compressors, demineralized water systems, generator cooling systems, and condensers.
- Monitor operating conditions and record key parameters (pressure, temperature, vibration, fluid levels); maintain accurate logs of system status and activities.
- Perform routine visual and auditory inspections to detect early signs of wear or malfunction, and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
- Report abnormal conditions promptly and take corrective action per plant guidelines to maintain safe operations.
- Assist in maintenance activities, including equipment preparation, isolation, and return to service after repairs or inspections.
- Utilize CMMS to initiate and track maintenance work orders, log completed tasks, and support planning of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Assist with basic instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting under guidance of technical specialists to support safe equipment performance.
- Support environmental compliance by operating within permitted emissions limits and following established control procedures and reporting requirements.
- Promote safety and continuous improvement by following site safety practices and actively participating in safety training, meetings, and audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to support plant effectiveness and reliability.

Working Relationships: The O&M Technician reports to the Plant Manager and coordinates with other plant personnel to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Physical Requirements And Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work may involve entering confined spaces, crawling, handling hazardous materials, exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Protective equipment may include hard hats, safety glasses or eye protection, respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing, hot gloves, high-voltage gear, and fall protection.
Respirator fit testing may be required. Smoking restrictions apply on site.
All personnel participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, including a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work ScheduleThe O&M Technician works a four-day, ten-hour shift schedule, with potential extended hours and flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet schedules and plant conditions. Periodic on-call status may be required.
CompensationThe position offers a base pay rate of $31.40 to $35.00 per hour, plus an annual performance bonus.
Core Qualifications And SkillsWe seek a skilled Technician with experience in power generation operations and maintenance and a track record of contributing to team success and meeting performance standards.
- Understanding of procedures and instructions; typically four years of high school, an Associate degree in power plant technology or related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Hands-on experience in power generation operations, including safe operation and routine maintenance of combustion turbines, steam turbines, and auxiliary equipment in a combined-cycle environment.
- Proficient in startup, shutdown, and routine operations; able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Skilled in mechanical work, including disassembly and reassembly of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment.
- Working knowledge of microprocessor-based control systems and basic instrumentation and electrical systems.
