Job Summary
The Sr. Specialist, Logistics is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end logistics and customs clearance operations. The role focuses on vendor management, customs compliance, shipment coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective logistics operations across imports and exports.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all logistics vendor contracts and resolve contractual, billing, or account-related issues effectively.
- Manage and optimize end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Oversee end-to-end customs clearance processes for both imports and exports.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, port officials, and relevant government entities to facilitate smooth clearance.
- Review, prepare, and submit all required customs documentation (HS codes, invoices, packing lists, certificates, permits, etc.).
- Handle customs inspections, audits, and inquiries, and resolve any clearance issues or disputes.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations) to ensure seamless logistics execution.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, transporters, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers.
- Monitor shipment schedules, track deliveries, and proactively address delays or disruptions.
- Prepare, review, and maintain logistics documentation, including shipping and customs clearance records.
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior logistics staff when required.
- Prepare periodic reports related to customs clearance and logistics activities.
- Closely follow up on payment processes from initiation through final settlement to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics operations and customs clearance, preferably in a senior or specialist role.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and HS codes.
- Experience managing logistics vendors, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
