Description
Tabby builds financial products used by millions of users across the GCC. We work on high-load, security-critical systems with strict regulatory requirements.
This internship is not educational by default. It is an engineering role with real responsibility.
Frontend engineers at Tabby work on both product and platform-level interfaces used by millions of users and internal teams. This includes complex user flows, shared frontend libraries, design systems, internal tools, and cross-team integrations.
The internship is designed for strong early-career engineers. Interns are embedded into real teams, work on production code, and are expected to meet engineering standards from day one.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis is not a helper role. Interns work on real production tasks under senior review.
- Develop and maintain frontend apps using React, Type Script and Next.js
- Work in shared codebases with strict typing and code quality requirements
- Implement and modify real user-facing flows
- Read and understand existing architecture and technical designs
- Fix real bugs and technical debt, not sandbox or demo tasks
- Assist with production operations: release preparation, deployment verification, smoke checks (under senior guidance)
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript and Type Script
- CSS fundamentals: layout, specificity/cascade, responsive design
- Understanding of how the browser works: DOM, events, async behavior
- Solid React fundamentals: hooks, composition, rendering behavior
- Basic understanding of Node.js: npm/yarn, running scripts, environment variables
- Familiarity with Next.js: routing, data fetching basics, SSR/SSG concepts, server/client boundaries
- Ability to read, understand, and modify existing codebases
- Comfortable working in POSIX/Unix-like environments
- Experience with Git: branching, PR workflow, resolving conflicts, rebasing
- Open to constructive feedback
- English sufficient for team communication
- Experience building libraries or reusable components
- Understanding of API design and backward compatibility
- Basic understanding of web security principles
- Interest in scalable frontend systems, not only UI work
- Saudi nationals only
- Internship is structured and administered through HRDF
- We welcome both current students and fresh grads
- We expect a full-time level of engagement throughout the internship. The program is not part-time: interns should be ready to contribute at a full working-day pace. We understand that students may occasionally need flexibility for classes or exams, which can be aligned with the mentor in advance, but overall performance, ownership, and context involvement are expected at a full-time level.
- Paid internship
- Full integration into an engineering team
- Distributed engineering team across multiple countries
- Remote work is available from anywhere
- Office-based work is available in Riyadh
- Clear path to a junior or middle role based on performance
This internship is intentionally demanding and designed for candidates aiming for fast professional growth in frontend engineering.
