About the Position
The Nesma & Partners Chair for Construction Research and Building Technologies at King Saud University (KSU) is seeking two highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join our multidisciplinary team.
These positions offer a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research that addresses the evolving needs of the global construction industry, with a specific focus on Saudi Arabia's ambitious infrastructure goals outlined in Vision 2030.
Key Research AreasCandidates with expertise in one or more of the following:
- Sustainable Building Technologies: Innovative materials, green concrete, and carbon footprint reduction in construction.
- Construction 4.0: Integration of AI, IoT, BIM, and robotics in construction management and site operations.
- Structural Integrity & Resilience: Advanced structural analysis and the long-term durability of infrastructure.
- Modular & 3D Construction: Prefabrication techniques and large-scale additive manufacturing.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform research and development activities under the direction of Nesma & Partners Chair for Construction Research and Building Technologies leadership.
- Conduct literature reviews, including review of publications, guidelines, standards, best practices, and other related resources.
- Coordinate and carry out data collection, including conducting interviews, determining sample-selection criteria, and developing and administering questionnaires and interviews.
- Compile, analyze, and report on the outcomes of data collection.
- Co-author research papers in top-tier (Q1/Q2) ISI-indexed journals, preparation of presentations, and other publications.
- Present research results in meetings, seminars, scientific conferences, and/or related settings.
- Foster communication with off-campus partners.
- Assist with the preparation of grant applications, contract proposals, and reports.
- Assist with administrative-related duties as needed.
- Education: A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Research Record: A strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Skills: Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Revit, MATLAB, or Python).
